Katazome Greeting Card Blossom Field
This card is made with a Katazome-shi paper.
Based on traditional kimono printing techniques the stencil-dyed paper Katazome-shi (paper) was developed during the 20th century in Kyoto and is still made there today.
The richly coloured papers are printed by hand, one colour at a time. Using Persimmon-dyed kozo as a stencil, with paste and Kojiro (soy bean juice), the pigments absorb deeply into the paper to produce long-lasting colour.
The card is handmade in London.
